With a magical sea view next to Nyhamn′s fishing village, this exciting project is only 1.5 miles from Visby. Building permit granted in 2023 for the reconstruction of the former Children′s Colony from the 1950s. Distinctive Gotland nature with cobblestone fields and beautiful coastal meadows.
When I first visit the property, it is a warm, still Sunday evening in September. As early as 6 p.m., the sun descends with its soft light into another beautiful sunset. The last rays illuminate the small fishing village with small fishing cabins in red and black that are closed for the season. The wharf is designed as shelter for winter and small boats are lined up. Fishing gear neatly gathered. A small fishing museum can be found in one of the sheds.
I stroll calmly with the dog along the pebble beach and across the beach meadows. Hedges of ripe blackberries and bright red rosehips line my path. Here you can walk along the sea down to Lummelunda, Salthamn and Brissund south before Visby. Likewise north along the protected, sought-after Gotland coast.
Welcome to Nyhamn fishing village.
